Overview
I represented Middlesex Community College as a national finalist at CCIC (Community College Innovation Challenge), pitching InSight - an AI/LiDAR-assisted navigation wearable for blind users. My part was the visuals: I taught myself Blender 4.4 to build an exploded-view render of the product for the investor pitch, iterating it through several revisions with the team.
What I learned
- Self-taught Blender 4.4 (via structured online coursework) to deliver a photorealistic exploded-view product render for a live investor pitch
- Modeled functional sub-assemblies - a pivoting LiDAR/camera mount and servo housing - accurate enough to double as a rough industrial-design concept, not just a pretty shell
- Iterated the render through multiple revisions based on team feedback on shell thickness and component geometry to improve visual realism
